Utilising power from the sun
We have installed 266 solar panels on our building with 4 back-up batteries, providing our business with a renewable source of energy for our electric usage.
Our solar panels have saved over 145 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions…
…our solar batteries have also helped save over 5 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions…
…this means the amount of carbon dioxide we have saved in total is over 150 tonnes…
…which is equivalent to planting 80 trees.
Biomass boiler district heating
In efforts to utilise waste wood and heat our offices with renewable energy, we have a three stage biomass system using all GlenFarrow products. Waste wood is first processed into wood chip through our GF auto-chipper, which then is placed in the GF auto-feed that feeds into our biomass boiler.
To help share the renewable heat we are generating from our boiler, we have also extended our system via 200m of pre-insulated underground pipe to a nearby office space. This district heating system has allowed both GlenFarrow and another business to benefit from a sustainable and cost-effective way of heating.
