How Recirculation Drying Works

In a standard kiln, heat is introduced, used once, and then vented. In a recirculation kiln, the process is far more intelligent. Warm air is constantly re-used and balanced within the chamber, maintaining optimal temperature and humidity levels throughout the drying cycle.

This approach ensures:

  • Uniform drying across every load
  • Reduced energy consumption thanks to heat recovery
  • Shorter drying times with consistent quality. Logs can be fully dried in 2-5 days
  • Improved control through automated air-flow management

The result is a high-performance drying system that’s reliable, sustainable, and cost-effective.

  • Automated fan sequencing for even temperature profiles
  • Adjustable venting and humidity control for exact moisture targets
  • Compatible with biomass, oil, or gas heat sources
  • Optional heat exchanger or waste-heat recovery system for extra efficiency
  • Modular chamber construction for easy installation and expansion

About the Kiln

  • Achieves temperatures of up to 80°C in short time frames
  • 2–5 day drying times, depending on material and moisture level
  • Fully manufactured in the UK using robust, insulated construction
  • Suitable for a range of materials, including logs, timber, and biomass
  • Automatic intake and extraction dampers reduce drying times and energy use
  • Simple to install as part of a new system or to retrofit into existing buildings
  • This combination of precision control and durable design ensures long-term performance, fast drying cycles, and consistently high-quality results.

Don’t just take it from us….

Take a look at what one of our customers had to say about their recirculation kiln install.

Modular Drying System

Our recirculation log drying kilns are built with a modular design, allowing firewood producers to expand drying capacity as their business grows.

Many customers begin with a single 40ft kiln, then increase production by adding additional units over time. This flexible approach allows you to scale your operation without replacing existing equipment or making large upfront investments.

One 210kW biomass boiler can heat up to three 40ft recirculation kilns.
