GlenFarrow offers a full design and build service to manufacture bespoke kilns to dry joinery timber, construction timber and/or logs.

As the customer, you are in control of how you would like your drying system. Our team of engineers will take your ideas and drying requirements and convert them into a system that best suits your business. We will take care of the whole process, from the design and manufacture all the way through to installation and commission.

Capacity

You decide on what size your kiln needs to be and the amount of material you would like to dry at one time. Just let us know the capacity you wish to have and our design team can advise and design an original building large enough to meet your requirements.

Configuration

From door type and size to colour, cladding and profile – all can be specified to suit your drying needs. You may have location restrictions that determine the size and shape of your kiln – these will all be factored in at the stage of design.

Controls

Our drying panels have full recipe control – allowing for fully automated drying for all types and species of wood. You will be able to control your drying time, select misting for humidification, run equalisation and conditioning processes whist getting unrivalled results every time.

Heat options

Our kilns are designed to work with biomass, LPG, oil and gas as a source of heat. Whichever heat source you decide to use, we can either connect the kiln to your existing system or supply a new heating system and/or boiler with your kiln. GlenFarrow recommends biomass as it is generally the cheapest form of heat. Biomass is also well suited for sites that can utilise their own waste wood for fuel.

Solar panels

Solar panels can be installed on your kiln roof to lower your electrical running costs. Payback on your system can be as little as 2-3 years! You can choose to have your solar panels on just your kiln roof or have additional panels throughout your site. Optional batteries can be added to the PV system as required to maximise usage.
