The requirement:
Steve Powell, a local home owner, recently reached out to GlenFarrow to provide a solution for charging his electrical vehicle at home. Steve made the decision to go carbon neutral and swap his diesel vehicle to a fully electric Tesla and required the electrical means to charge at home without having travel to the nearest charging point.
Our solution:
Our electrical team assessed the site and suggested that the Rolec WallPod:EV SmartHome charger with a built-in truepen PME fault detection would be the best option. The 7.2kW (32A) charger allows for faster charging speeds and provided the customer 3 years warranty. We worked closely with the customer to ensure the charger was installed in the most accessible and convenient place, then we ran cables around the garage to accommodate this. Our engineers completed all works to meet BS7671:2018 IET Wiring Regulations. After testing and commissioning the charger, we also gave a walk-through demonstration of how the charger and smart app works so the customer had full confidence when leaving site.
Choosing a Smart Charger to be installed also meant the customer could take advantage of the OZEV government grant – meaning that they received £350 off their charger install. GlenFarrow completed all relevant paperwork and assisted the customer with the grant application to ensure the process was as smooth as possible.
What the client said:
“I am extremely happy with the domestic EV charger installation GlenFarrow carried out at my home. They were very helpful and no hassle at all. Barry, the engineer, answered all of my questions and completed the job quickly and efficiently. If you are thinking about having an EV charger, they are your guys. I would highly recommend them.”
