The requirement:

Spalding Rugby Club (RFC) approached GlenFarrow to support the relocation of their sports club to a new site at Cententary Park. The club was previously located on St Thomas’ Road, where they shared facilities with Spalding Grammer School and Spalding Cricket Club. The new location was a vacant plot, offering them the chance to create a purpose-built clubhouse and changing facility tailored to their specific needs. As a long-standing customer of GlenFarrow for over 10 years, Spalding RFC trusted us to deliver a turnkey solution for their plumbing and heating requirements.

Our solution:

Our engineers designed and installed a system to meet Spalding RFC’s business needs for their new clubhouse and changing facility. This included hot and cold water services with above ground drainage, modern sanitaryware and A rated ATAG LPG-fired condensing boilers. These boilers, housed in a new plant room, provide a seasonal space heating energy efficiency of 93% and emit very low NOx emissions. This system was design to supply heating and hot water to 24 showers, ensuring peak performance during busy match days with 2000l of boosted hot water storage. Cubicles, vanity units and additional facilities such as a cleaner’s sink, drinking fountain and water softener was also installed. The result was a complete heating and plumbing system that is fully equipped to handle the demands of the club, providing reliant and energy-efficient services. By working closely with the club throughout the project, this allowed us to not only make sure the installation was tailored to their specific requirements, but to also ensure the facility is ready for potential future expansion.

What the client said:

“Spalding RFC were pleased to appoint GlenFarrow as heating and plumbing contractor for our newly built changing rooms after a competitive tender process. Their commercial experience and expertise proved invaluable in designing and installing the systems to meet our current and future needs, with energy efficiency and sustainability to the fore in the design. A very good working relationship was established through all phases of the contract. We are very pleased with the end result and have no hesitation in recommending GlenFarrow.”
